Friction Addiction

An Intermediate Class on Foundational Frictions

Frictions are an essential part of rope bondage, and a fundamental building block for creating more complex and structured ties. Most of us start learning frictions as we learn patterns, but do you know why you're using an x-friction there and not a half-moon friction? Is that munter actually structural or purely decorative? How many different uses are there for a half hitch?

Join us for a deep dive on foundational frictions, including how they work, when to use them, and how to combine them to create your own patterns.

This class focuses primarily on rigging techniques and may not provide much value for bottom-identifying individuals. That said, the techniques are best illustrated and practiced on another body, so we encourage folks to come with a partner to get the most out of the content. We will provide self-tying or object-tying exercise alternatives for solo attendees.

This is an intermediate level class. Familiarity with bondage fundamentals, including single columns and rope handling techniques, is expected.
